Manvel is 4-0 against Lamar Consolidated since January of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Manvel Mavericks will finish 2024 at home by hosting the Lamar Consolidated Mustangs at 1:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Manvel has three straight wins, Lamar Consolidated has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Manvel will head into Friday's matchup hoping to keep the good times rolling: they had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 25-point drubbing they dealt Alvin on Friday. Manvel put the hurt on Alvin with a sharp 61-36 victory. The contest marked the Mavericks' most dominant win of the season.

Meanwhile, Lamar Consolidated came up short against Fort Bend Kempner on Friday and fell 54-41. The Mustangs were down 43-23 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Manvel has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.4 points per game. As for Lamar Consolidated, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-9.
