Winslow extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 8-15. They came up short against the Show Low Cougars, falling 21-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-4 back in March.
Angela Salazar was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Jewel Ben, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
As for Show Low, they pushed their record up to 26-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 22 matchups by seven runs or more this season.
On Show Low's side, Addi Clark made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 12 batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). Clark has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Show Low got a massive performance out of Angelee Villa, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with two triples, two stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most triples Villa has posted since back in March of 2025. Aspyn Clark was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.
Winslow wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-2 loss against Snowflake on the 27th. As for Show Low, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-2 win against Joseph City on the 25th.
