Basketball Recap: Martin Starts Season with Win on the Road

Martin had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 56-49 win over the Robeson Business Tech Eagles on Saturday.

Despite the defeat, Robeson Business Tech saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ian Jones almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine blocks. Those nine blocks set a new season-high mark for Jones. Another player making a difference was Bryce Hall, who posted ten points.

This is the second loss in a row for Robeson Business Tech and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Coming up, Martin is taking a road trip to square off against Springfield Gardens at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Falcons' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Robeson Business Tech, they will square off against Brooklyn Law & Tech at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
