Basketball Recap: Muhammad Yusuf's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Aubrey Rogers over Lely

Aubrey Rogers was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 65-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lely Trojans. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 74-72 back in December of 2024.

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Muhammad Yusuf, who posted 13 points. Another player making a difference was Kediel Fernandez-Cruz, who put up 11 points.

Aubrey Rogers' loss dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Lely, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-10.

Aubrey Rogers and Naples will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. As for Lely, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Palmetto Ridge at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Lely is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
