Preview: Fairfield Lions vs. Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs
Fairfield has been on the road for two straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Fairfield's 19-6 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. The contest between Fairfield and Fayetteville-Perry wasn't particularly close, with Fairfield falling 56-41.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Lynchburg-Clay's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell 53-46 to North Adams.
Fairfield bumped their record down to 2-4 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Lynchburg-Clay, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
Fairfield was able to grind out a solid win over Lynchburg-Clay when the teams last played back in January, winning 60-53. Will Fairfield repeat their success, or does Lynchburg-Clay have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
