The Cameron Dragons will head out to square off against the River Pilots at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Cameron will bounce into Wednesday's game after beating Tyler, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Dragons never let the Knights get on the board and left with a 7-0 win on Wednesday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 22, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Aubrey Thomas was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Baylee Long, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

River came out on top against Marietta on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run third inning. The Pilots were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Tigers. Considering the Pilots have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ava Wohnhas was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and three runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jayda Kinney-Blair, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI. Another player making a difference was Alyvia Bayes, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

River always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

River has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Cameron, their record is now 7-13.

Cameron couldn't quite finish off River when the teams last played back in April and fell 8-6. Can the Dragons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
