Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Victory Christian

Victory Christian waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Eufaula Ironheads 9-1. Considering the Conquerors have won four contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Jake Butterfield made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over six innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jacob Earnhardt was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Journey Boswell was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Victory Christian's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Eufaula, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Victory Christian will host Perry at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Eufaula, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Asher at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.
