Recap: Central Davidson Spartans vs. Oak Grove Grizzlies
After a string of three wins, The Central Davidson Spartans''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were beaten by Oak Grove 42-14. Central Davidson has struggled against Oak Grove recently, as their match on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Oak Grove to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jyden Barnes, who rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Connor Creech was another key contributor, rushing for 36 yards and two touchdowns.
Central Davidson's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Oak Grove, their victory was their tenth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 9-1.
Central Davidson will face off against Eastern Guilford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Oak Grove, they will be playing at home against Ashbrook at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ashbrook will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while Oak Grove is ranked 30th).
