Softball Game Preview: Barlow Bruins vs. South Medford Panthers

The Barlow Bruins will head out on the road to face off against the South Medford Panthers at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Barlow's pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so South Medford's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Barlow saw some tournament action on Monday. They came out on top against Oregon City by a score of 4-1.

Barlow got a great performance from Kaylee Pokorny 2025 as she struck out 14 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). With that strong performance, Pokorny 2025 is now averaging an impressive 7.3 strikeouts per game.

At the plate, Barlow saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alyssa McCormick 2028, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Charliann Renner 2025 was another, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when South Medford duked it out with Century on Monday. South Medford's pitchers stepped up to hand Century a 6-0 shutout. The win was just business as usual for the Panthers, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

Barlow's record is now 3-1. As for South Medford, their record is now 3-0.

Barlow suffered a grim 13-3 defeat to South Medford in their previous meeting back in March of 2023. Can Barlow avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
