Softball Recap: Avoca-Prattsburgh Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Avoca-Prattsburgh put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Alfred-Almond Eagles 9-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Titans also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Meyah Putnam made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 7.2 strikeouts per game. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

In other batting news, Avoca-Prattsburgh got a big performance out of Brooke Vanskiever, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. AJ McIntyre was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Avoca-Prattsburgh always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Avoca-Prattsburgh pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average this season. As for Alfred-Almond, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Avoca-Prattsburgh will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on the 21st.
