After low-scoring totals in their previous three game, DuQuoin brought some dynamite into their most recent match. They put the hurt on the Herrin Tigers with a sharp 10-2 win on Saturday. This was a revenge game for the Indians: when they faced off against the Tigers last Wednesday, they had to take a 11-0 loss.

Taylor Hiller made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Hiller was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That run marked the first that she has scored this season.

In other batting news, Isabele Jones was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run was her first of the season. Aubrey Bastien was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

DuQuoin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. They are 4-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory snapped DuQuoin's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-19 record. As for Herrin, they dropped their record down to 10-14 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. DuQuoin will take on Murphysboro at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Herrin, they will face off against Frankfort at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
