Softball Recap: Pickens Academy Pirates vs. Patrician Academy Saints
Pickens Academy was the 8-1 winner over Patrician Academy when they last played one another back in March of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. The Pickens Academy Pirates fell just short of the Patrician Academy Saints by a score of 4-3 on Friday.
For Patrician Academy's part, Olivia Jimerson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits.
At the plate, Makenna Turner was excellent, going 1-for-2 with a triple, a run, and an RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryleigh Cornett, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
Pickens Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Patrician Academy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
