Baseball Game Preview: Soddy Daisy Trojans vs. Signal Mountain Eagles

For the second straight game, Soddy Daisy will face off against Signal Mountain. The Trojans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Soddy Daisy made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Signal Mountain, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Trojans put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 16-4 victory on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.

Jake Jackson made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Soddy Daisy let Cooper Poe and Brayden Maynor run wild. Poe went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double, while Maynor scored four runs while going 2-for-3. Those four runs gave Maynor a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Logan Williams, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5.

This is the second loss in a row for Signal Mountain and nudges their season record down to 12-10. As for Soddy Daisy, their win bumped their record up to 13-8-1.
