Baseball Recap: Olympic Trojans vs. Palisades Pumas
Olympic had lost seven straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 0-13 to make it eight. They came up short against the Palisades Pumas, falling 16-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pumas this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-0 back in March.
As for Palisades, they moved to 10-13 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.
For Palisades' part, they got a great performance from Blake Devis as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over 4.2 innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave Devis a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Addison Rowland was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Palisades is 8-1 when Rowland posts two or more runs, but 2-12 otherwise. Israel Clase was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
