Softball Game Preview: Gabrielino Eagles vs. Glendale Nitros

The Gabrielino Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Glendale Nitros at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Gabrielino has given up an average of 16.9 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Friday. Gabrielino came up short against South El Monte, falling 18-4.

Meanwhile, Glendale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 16-2 to Burroughs.

Glendale saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jade Marquez, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. Fritzy Martinez was another, going 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Glendale's loss dropped their record down to 9-12-1. As for Gabrielino, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.
