Softball Recap: Platt Comes Up Short

Platt was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They came up short against the Middletown Blue Dragons, falling 14-2. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 8-0 to the Blue Dragons when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Platt saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Boyles, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Platt's record now sits at 1-10. As for Middletown, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-8.

Platt and Middletown could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Connecticut Rankings. The Panthers will challenge Berlin at 7:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (143 vs. 28). Meanwhile, Middletown (ranked 107th) will meet Southington (ranked sixth) at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
