Baseball Recap: Treasure Coast Triumphs

Treasure Coast posted their closest victory since February 20th on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Henry Clay Blue Devils 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Titans.

Yanniel Lopez looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Treasure Coast is 6-2 when he allows at most one walk, but 4-9 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Thomas Johnson was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. Treasure Coast is 3-1 when Johnson posts two or more stolen bases, but 7-10 otherwise.

Treasure Coast's record now sits at 10-11. As for Henry Clay, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season.

Treasure Coast will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Centennial at 4:00 p.m. As for Henry Clay, they will venture away from home to square off against West Jessamine at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Colts have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
