Lewiston is 0-10 against Oxford Hills since May of 2019 but things could change on Wednesday. The Blue Devils will face off against the Vikings at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Lewiston's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Poland 1-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Blue Devils have posted since April 29, 2024.

Not much got past Spencer Chartier, who gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Poland off the board. Chartier also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Lewiston is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 2-3 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Lewiston secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Lonnie Thomas, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Thomas is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Oxford Hills, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They were the clear victors by an 18-2 margin over Skowhegan on Monday. That 16 run margin sets a new team best for the Vikings this season.
Carter Holbrook and Gunner Truman did most of the damage at the plate: Holbrook went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple, while Truman went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That triple was Holbrook's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ryder Kennison, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Oxford Hills always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.
Oxford Hills has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Lewiston, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
