Volleyball Recap: Jonesville Comets vs. Napoleon Pirates
Jonesville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Napoleon Pirates. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Comets of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.
Jonesville took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 21-25, 19-25, 27-25, 16-0.
Morgan Wood paced Jonesville's offense, picking up 15 kills. Wood got some help from Olivia Babcock and her 49 assists. Finally, Wood was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high five blocks.
Jonesville's loss dropped their record down to 6-9-1. As for Napoleon, they pushed their record up to 15-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road.
