After a string of four wins, NCSSM: Durham's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 48-40 to the Falls Lake Firebirds. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Unicorns this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-35 on January 9th.

Falls Lake found their leader in sophomore Destiny Williams, who went 9 of 10 en route to 20 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jeneen Mason, who posted 13 points and three steals.

NCSSM: Durham's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Falls Lake, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.

NCSSM: Durham will face off against Research Triangle at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. NCSSM: Durham is facing Research Triangle at the right time seeing as Research Triangle is stuck on a 12-game losing streak. Falls Lake has already played their next contest (against Franklin Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
