Lake Norman dropped down to 7-3 on Friday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Mooresville Blue Devils by a score of 23-21. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 35-20 to the Blue Devils when the teams met back in November of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
When it comes to explaining why Lake Norman lost, don't look at Jayden Nordtveit. Despite the final result, he rushed for 131 yards and one score. Noah Jacobsen also helped out with an impressive 86 receiving yards.
Lake Norman didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Jeremy Mitchell. Another thorn in Mooresville's side was Jaylen Glover, who made 13 total tackles (1.0 for loss).
As for Mooresville, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.5 points over those games.
Brody Norman had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 76 yards and a pair of TDs, while also throwing for 170 yards and one touchdown. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in November of 2024.
