Football Game Preview: South Park Burros vs. Simla Cubs + How To Watch

South Park is 0-3 against Simla since October of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Burros will face off against the Cubs at 7:00 p.m. South Park has given up an average of 50.6 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

South Park is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against St. Mary's on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Burros were dealt a 54-14 defeat at the hands of the Pirates. The Burros were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-6.

Meanwhile, Simla faced Elbert in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Cubs walked away with a 41-34 victory over the Bulldogs. The win continues a trend for the Cubs in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won five in a row.

Simla's win came from a few key players South Park will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ethan Kissam, who rushed for 187 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, and also picked up 63 receiving yards and one TD. He has become a key player for Simla: the team is undefeated when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 1-3 otherwise. Tatum Kocerha was another key player, rushing for 147 yards and one score on only six carries.

Simla was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 359 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Simla's defensive line made their presence known, laying out the QB four times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.

Simla's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for South Park, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
