Baseball Game Preview: Community Academy of Philadelphia Bruins vs. String Theory

The Community Academy of Philadelphia Bruins will square off against String Theory at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Community Academy of Philadelphia has given up an average of 7.5 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Community Academy of Philadelphia played against New Foundations on Tuesday and lost via forfeit.

On Wednesday, String Theory didn't have quite enough to beat Thomas A. Edison and fell 5-4. String Theory has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Anthony Putnick was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Putnick was also solid in the batter's box, earning one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases.

Putnick wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Dayvid Gonzalez, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

String Theory's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4-2. As for Community Academy of Philadelphia, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-3.
