Basketball Recap: Brazosport Sets Scoring Season-High Against Wharton

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Brazosport). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Wharton Tigers 85-51. The Exporters have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 21 points or more this season.

Brazosport got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Deja El-Amin out in front who went 8 of 15 en route to 31 points and six steals. The contest was El-Amin's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Sanii Player, who almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine boards.

Brazosport was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Brazosport is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.5 points per game. As for Wharton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-17.

Brazosport will head out to square off against Needville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wharton, they will welcome Sweeny at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
