Football Recap: Tonopah Skates Past Laughlin with Ease

Tonopah won the last time they faced Laughlin and things went their way on Friday too. The Muckers claimed a resounding 74-6 win over the Cougars. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Muckers.

Dustin Otteson was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 359 yards and five TDs on only 13 carries, and also threw for 32 yards and one touchdown. Those 359 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Adelaido Salgado was another major influence, as he rushed for 48 yards and ran in a TD.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Tonopah proved: they limited Laughlin to a paltry -0.1 yards per carry. While four picked up at least six total tackles, Otteson stood above the rest. He rushed for 359 yards and five scores on only 13 carries, and also threw for 32 yards and one TD. Tonopah didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 19.4.

Tonopah's victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tonopah will challenge Eureka at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Laughlin, they will take on Beaver Dam at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
