Football Game Preview: East Paulding Raiders vs. South Paulding Spartans + Official Tickets

Two dominant signal callers in Bode Spence and Kade Wigginton are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The East Paulding Raiders will be playing in front of their home fans against the South Paulding Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. East Paulding knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully South Paulding likes a good challenge.

On Friday, East Paulding made easy work of Kennesaw Mountain and carried off a 37-12 win. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won five games by 25 points or more so far this season.

East Paulding can attribute much of their success to Kirk Anthony Thomas, who picked up 58 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 13 points in total. All came from Aaron Humphries: he went 3-for-3 kicking field goals for nine points, and 4-for-4 kicking extra points for an additional four.

Meanwhile, South Paulding played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Rome, falling 62-22. The Spartans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-14.

Defeat or not, South Paulding got some senior leadership from Isaiah Ford and Demarian Ward. Ford picked up 98 receiving yards and one TD, while Ward rushed for 68 yards and one score on only nine carries.

East Paulding's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for South Paulding, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-5.

East Paulding skirted past South Paulding 31-28 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Spartans' Albert Mccoy, who rushed for 235 yards and three touchdowns.
