Softball Recap: Hyde Park Has No Trouble Against Goliad

While Hyde Park put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Goliad. The Hyde Park Panthers blew past the Goliad Tigers 8-0. Considering the Panthers have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Alexa Stout made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Cariana Stout was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Grace Parscal was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Hyde Park hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts every time they've taken the field this season.

Hyde Park's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Goliad, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Looking ahead, Hyde Park will challenge Shiner at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday. We've got a battle between Tigers coming up.
