Softball Game Preview: Portland Christian Eagles vs. Martin County Cardinals

The Portland Christian Eagles will square off against the Martin County Cardinals at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Portland Christian came up short against Elliott County and fell 12-8. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bailey Atcher made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. She also hit a triple, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Addie Bragg, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Martin County came up short against Knott County Central on Saturday, falling 17-8.

Portland Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Martin County, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
