Basketball Recap: Pompano Beach Falls Short of Suncoast in the Playoffs

Pompano Beach and Suncoast squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Pompano Beach had to settle for second. They were dealt a 77-14 defeat at the hands of the Suncoast Chargers. While losing is never fun, the Golden Tornadoes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 606th, while the Chargers are ranked 177th).

Pompano Beach's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Suncoast, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.

Pompano Beach does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Suncoast, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Boynton Beach at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Suncoast is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
