Softball Game Preview: Anthony Wayne Generals vs. Oak Harbor Rockets

The Anthony Wayne Generals will square off against the Oak Harbor Rockets at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Anthony Wayne comes in on four and Oak Harbor on five.

Anthony Wayne proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 17) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past Minster 4-3.

Meanwhile, Oak Harbor narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Otsego 9-8.

Morgan Lalonde spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hannah Schimmoeller, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Haylee Robinson, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

Oak Harbor pushed their record up to 20-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Anthony Wayne, their win bumped their record up to 21-4.
