Volleyball Recap: St. Patrick Gets the Win

St. Patrick hadn't done well against Carmel recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Shamrocks came out on top against the Corsairs by a score of 2-0. The Shamrocks were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Corsairs, so the Shamrocks were just returning the favor.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant St. Patrick was: they took both sets by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-12.

Charlie Hall paced St. Patrick's offense, picking up seven kills. Hall got some help from Matthew Moskal and his 11 assists. Josh Grog controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

St. Patrick is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-12 record this season. As for Carmel, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-22 record this season.

St. Patrick will venture away from home to take on Payton College Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Grizzlies will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Shamrocks surely won't give up without a fight. As for Carmel, they will host Saint Viator at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Corsairs are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
