Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Marisa Denney and Mallari Pittman Lead Elkhart to Victory

Elkhart won the last time they faced Mexia and things went their way on Friday too. The Elks put the hurt on the Black Cats with a sharp 3-0 victory.

Elkhart's got stronger as the match went on, holding Mexia to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-15, 25-12.

Elkhart was led to victory by Mallari Pittman and Marisa Denney. Pittman had 20 assists, while Denney had five assists and three digs. That's the most assists Pittman has posted over her last six matchups.

Elkhart was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive contests.

Elkhart's record is now 21-13. As for Mexia, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 13 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-19 record this season.
