Basketball Game Preview: New Albany Bulldogs vs. Scottsburg Warriors

New Albany and Scottsburg are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2014, but not for long. The New Albany Bulldogs will venture away from home to challenge the Scottsburg Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with nine consecutive losses for New Albany and six for Scottsburg.

Last Tuesday, New Albany was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 58-53 to Providence.

Meanwhile, Scottsburg came up short against Charlestown on Tuesday and fell 49-38. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 261st, while the Pirates are ranked 96th).

Scottsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for New Albany, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.

New Albany took a serious blow against Scottsburg when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 69-28. Can New Albany avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
