The biggest upset of the week belonged to Torrington, who took down 33rd ranked Torrington, 54-20. Jason Bradley threw for 235 yards and four touchdowns and ran for 10 yards in the win.
Naugatuck moved up to 29 from 56 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Naugatuck Valley - Copper. The Greyhounds were able to make the jump by topping the Red Raiders 54-20.
Joe Fancher was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 109 yards on six carries as Woodland Regional beat Torrington. Joe Masulli also contributed to the rushing game with 53 yards on the ground.
Pernell was the best wideout in the league this week as Rob Plasky's team beat Daniel Dunaj's team. Pernell tallied three receptions for 128 yards. Ryne Griesenauer helped Naugatuck's passing attack out by catching one ball for 67 yards.
St. Paul Catholic's Logan Marchi and Daija Fitzpatrick have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Naugatuck Valley - Copper in both passing and receiving yards. Marchi has thrown for 1279 yards this season, while Fitzpatrick, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 29 catches for 436 yards. The Greyhounds' Pernell leads the league in rushing yards with 683.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Naugatuck takes on Holy Cross. As it stands, the Greyhounds are in first, while the Crusaders are in third.
Holy Cross took down Kennedy 48-12 last week, the largest margin of any game.
