Volleyball Recap: Lincoln North Star Wins High-Profile Matchup Against Lincoln Southwest

Lincoln North Star faced Lincoln Southwest in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Navigators blew past the Silver Hawks 3-0. The victory was nothing new for the Navigators as they're now sitting on three straight.

Lincoln North Star never let Lincoln Southwest on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 30-28, 25-17.

Lincoln North Star was led to victory by Kendyll Jackson and Kenadie Lantz. Jackson had 13 digs and one assist, while Lantz had six digs and two aces. Those 13 digs gave Jackson a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: Lincoln North Star was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in three consecutive matches.

Lincoln North Star's win bumped their record up to 17-2. As for Lincoln Southwest, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-5.

Coincidentally, Lincoln North Star and Lincoln Southwest will both be playing Standing Bear the next time they take the court. The Silver Hawks will head out to face the Grizzlies at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Navigators will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
