Baseball Recap: Fayetteville Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Victory

It's playoff time, and Fayetteville had no trouble coming through when it counted. Everything went their way against the Round Top-Carmine Cubs on Thursday as they made off with a 15-1 win. Considering the Lions have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Jack Schley was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Easton Jaeger, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Chance Konvicka, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

The victory was the seventh in a row for Fayetteville, bringing their record up to 15-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Round Top-Carmine, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 13-13 record.

Fayetteville will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cubs: the pair will be back at it again later today.
