Baseball Game Preview: Mount View Golden Knights vs. Summit Christian Academy Falcons

The Mount View Golden Knights will take on the Summit Christian Academy Falcons at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Mount View took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They never let Montcalm get on the board and left with a 20-0 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Golden Knights as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Hunter Muncy made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Muncy was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in both of his plate appearances. That stolen base marked the first that he snagged this season.

Muncy wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Clemins, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-1. Blane Sturgell was another, scoring two runs.

Mount View always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .657. They are 2-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Summit Christian Academy). They blew past Jefferson Christian Academy 13-5 on Monday.

The victory got Mount View back to even at 3-3. As for Summit Christian Academy, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
