Basketball Game Preview: Lodi Flames vs. Kimball Jaguars

The Lodi Flames will face off against the Kimball Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Lodi's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Kimball has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

Lodi will bounce into Friday's contest after beating St. Mary's, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Lodi came out on top against St. Mary's by a score of 57-46 on Wednesday. Given the Flames' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 135th, while the Rams are ranked 290th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sean Tetz was nothing short of spectacular: he went 9 for 16 on his way to 23 points and six boards. That's the most points he has posted since back in January of 2024. Jackson Butler was another key player, going 5 of 8 en route to 13 points and six rebounds.

Lodi was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Kimball came up short against West on Wednesday and fell 63-51.

Lodi's victory bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Kimball, their loss dropped their record down to 6-14.

Lodi and Kimball were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in November of 2022, but Lodi came up empty-handed after a 64-63 defeat. Can Lodi avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
