Baseball Game Preview: Durango Demons vs. Montrose Red Hawks

For the second straight game, Durango will face off against Montrose. The Demons will welcome the Red Hawks at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Durango is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

Durango took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Everything went their way against Montrose as they made off with a 14-7 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Demons considering their one-run performance the match before.

Landin Padilla was a standout: he went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan White, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Durango is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Montrose, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-16.
