Sierra Vista extended their winning streak to six games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Jevon Yapi. The Sierra Vista Mountain Lions walked away with a 49-42 victory over the Bishop O'Dowd Dragons on Wednesday thanks in part to Yapi, who went 13 for 20 on his way to 30 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Yapi is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least three every time he's taken the court this season.

Sierra Vista's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Bishop O'Dowd, they moved to 3-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Sierra Vista has already played their next match, a 78-44 victory against Crean Lutheran on the 19th. As for Bishop O'Dowd, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Destiny Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 11, 2025.
