Baseball Recap: San Leandro Takes a Loss

San Leandro lost against Arroyo last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. San Leandro fell just short of Arroyo by a score of 3-2. The Pirates just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Sam Linnevers was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Those hits marked the first that he allowed this season.

At the plate, Gary Ferguson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Stanley Acevedo also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

San Leandro's record now sits at 6-4. As for Arroyo, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-6 record this season.

San Leandro will be playing in front of their home fans against Head-Royce at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Arroyo, they will head out to take on Alameda at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
