Sachse and Wylie East are an even 4-4 against one another since March of 2018, but likely not for long. The Mustangs will venture away from home to challenge the Raiders at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Sachse put up the most points they have all season on Tuesday. They never let Lakeview Centennial get on the board and left with a 24-0 win. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Mustangs with their most commanding win of the season.

Logan Schultz was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Maya Mcclarity was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Shelby Siratt, who went 3-for-4 with six RBI, three runs, and one triple.
Meanwhile, Wylie East got the win against North Garland on Tuesday by a conclusive 23-1. The result was nothing new for Wylie East, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Like Sachse, Wylie East also got a great game from a two-way player: Grace Maddux. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Maddux was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Isabella Flores, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. Kimma Kincaid was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Wylie East always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .630. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Garland only posted an OBP of .400.
Wylie East has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.8 runs over those games. As for Sachse, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-8.
Sachse might still be hurting after the 12-6 loss they got from Wylie East when the teams last played back in March. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
