Baseball Game Preview: Airport Jets vs. Riverview Pirates

The Airport Jets will face off against the Riverview Pirates at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Airport will be strutting in after a victory while Riverview will be coming in after a loss.

Airport took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Milan, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Jets narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Big Reds 4-2.

Meanwhile, Riverview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of Grosse Ile.

Jameson Gelineau put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (one). He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with four stolen bases and five runs. Riverview is 2-1 when Gelineau posts two or more runs, but 5-25 otherwise.

In other batting news, Max Rebeka made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Airport's victory bumped their record up to 10-16. As for Riverview, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-26.
