Basketball Game Preview: Centerburg Trojans vs. Northmor Golden Knights

The Centerburg Trojans will challenge the Northmor Golden Knights at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Centerburg's defense has only allowed 24.2 points per game this season, so Northmor's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Centerburg is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Fredericktown just ended the team's ten-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 41-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Freddies. The game marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Northmor was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 34-29 to Loudonville. The Golden Knights haven't had much luck with the Redbirds recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Centerburg will need focus on slowing down Riley Cooper, one of several Northmor players who made an impact when they last played. She posted eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryann Brinkman, who had eight points and eight rebounds.

Having lost for the first time this season, Centerburg fell to 10-1. As for Northmor, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.

Everything came up roses for Centerburg against Northmor in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 55-15 victory. Does Centerburg have another victory up their sleeve, or will Northmor turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
