Basketball Recap: Frontier Academy Sets Scoring Season-High Against Valley

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Frontier Academy). They blew past the Valley Vikings 81-61 on Thursday. The Wolverines haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Lucas Carmichael had an outrageously good game as he dropped a double-double with 30 points and ten boards. He is becoming a predictor of Frontier Academy's success: when he posts at least 15 points the team is 5-1 (and 5-12 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Belt, who shot 64% from the field to rack up 15 points.

Frontier Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

When it comes to explaining why Valley lost, don't look at Caleb Dudley. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 30 points and 15 rebounds. That was a full 49.2% of Valley's points, marking the third time in a row Dudley has posted more than a third of the team's points. Seth Kissler was another key player, putting up eight points and six boards.

Frontier Academy's victory bumped their record up to 10-13. As for Valley, they dropped their record down to 6-17 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Coming up, Frontier Academy will challenge SkyView Academy at 6:00 p.m. on March 7th. Frontier Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
