Baseball Game Preview: Mabel-Canton Cougars vs. Grand Meadow/Kingsland/LeRoy-Ostrander Superlarks

Mabel-Canton and Grand Meadow/Kingsland/LeRoy-Ostrander are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Cougars will take on the Superlarks at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither Mabel-Canton nor Grand Meadow/Kingsland/LeRoy-Ostrander posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Two weeks ago, Mabel-Canton came up short against Fillmore Central/Lanesboro and fell 5-2.

Mabel-Canton saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Larson, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Another was Kale Eiken, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Grand Meadow/Kingsland/LeRoy-Ostrander fell victim to Cannon Falls and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bombers. The Superlarks have struggled against the Bombers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Mabel-Canton's loss was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-3. As for Grand Meadow/Kingsland/LeRoy-Ostrander, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Mabel-Canton came out on top in a nail-biter against Grand Meadow/Kingsland/LeRoy-Ostrander in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 11-10. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Superlarks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
