Soccer Game Preview: Pecos vs. Lake View

Pecos is 0-4 against Lake View since February of 2023 but things could change on Tuesday. The Pecos Eagles will be playing at home against the Lake View Chiefs at 5:30 p.m.

Pecos is looking to tack another W on to their season record, something they couldn't quite do against Estacado on Friday. Neither Pecos nor Estacado could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

Meanwhile, Lake View came tearing into Friday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 goals) and they left with even more momentum. Their defense stepped up to hand the Mustangs a 9-0 shutout. Considering the Chiefs have won five games by more than three goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Lake View pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four matchups. Pecos' draw gives them a new season record of 3-1-1.

Pecos might still be hurting after the 4-0 defeat they got from Lake View when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can Pecos avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
