Football Game Preview: Woods Cross Wildcats vs. Olympus Titans

The Woods Cross Wildcats will square off against the Olympus Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Woods Cross is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Brighton, who was ranked 17th at the time (Woods Cross was ranked 16th). The Wildcats took a 28-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bengals on Friday. It was the first time this season that the Wildcats let down their fans at home.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Olympus, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They never let Viewmont get on the board and left with a 24-0 win on Friday. The Titans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Olympus' win came from a few key players Woods Cross will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Preston Ferran, who threw for 95 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also punched in one score on the ground. Adam Bywater was in the mix as well, providing Olympus with two TDs.

Olympus didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Sam Brown and Bywater. Olympus is 2-1 when Brown posts one or more interceptions, but 2-3 otherwise.

The victory got Olympus back to even at 4-4. As for Woods Cross, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-3.

Woods Cross took a serious blow against Olympus when the teams last played back in November of 2024, falling 49-21. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Wildcats were down 35-7.
