Basketball Recap: Onaga Starts off Right with Win over Northern Heights

Onaga gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They came out on top against the Northern Heights Wildcats by a score of 55-45. The Buffaloes haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Onaga's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Koy Nider led the charge by putting up 19 points along with eight assists and five boards. Those 19 points gave Nider a new career-high. Ryder Kolterman was another key player, posting ten points in addition to five rebounds and five steals.

Looking ahead, Onaga is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Flint Hills Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northern Heights has already played their next game (against Wabaunsee), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
