Soccer Game Preview: Newton Falls vs. Champion

Newton Falls is 0-9-1 against Champion since September of 2017 but things could change on Wednesday. The Tigers will challenge the Golden Flashes at 7:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Monday. Newton Falls lost 9-1 to Springfield. Newton Falls was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 8-0.

Their goal came courtesy of Mia DeCesare, who's now up to six this season.

Meanwhile, Champion managed to keep up with Austintown-Fitch until halftime on Monday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Golden Flashes came up short against the Falcons, falling 4-0.

Champion's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Newton Falls, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.

Newton Falls couldn't quite get it done against Champion in their previous meeting back in August of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
